The horses spend the whole day in the grass-free paddock with a small trail.
In addition to 2 automatic hay racks to avoid long feeding breaks and thus protect the stomach, straw is also offered in various places for nibbling. A deadwood corner is also available and is filled with wood or branches depending on availability.
The horses always have access to a brick-built stable, which is pleasantly cool in summer, and a large shelter.
There is the option of letting the horses out to pasture on a rationed basis, depending on the weather conditions. My deer mare doesn't go onto the grass at all, but she has no problems with this as she is always in sight. If you're looking for 24-hour pasture, you've come to the wrong place. I don't graze in winter, simply because of the increased risk of laminitis.
